Music At Calvary

The music department's mission is to enrich the service through praise, worship and devotion in song. It is the means through which the soul and spirit reach out to God in worship and praise with a song in spirit and in truth. The Music Ministry assists the worshippers in centering their thoughts upon God. The goal is to prepare the worshipers hearts for the Holy Spirit to minister to them.

Our vision is to worship God in truth and in spirit and leading people into the presence of God and in adoration, create an atmosphere of openness to the Holy Spirit. In essence, the Music Ministry will set an atmosphere whereby we may feel God's loving arms wrap themselves around us.

9:30 AM Service

The music ministry at our 9:30 AM Sunday Service is more along the lines of the Traditional Style structure. The United Methodist Hymnal is used for congregational singing and is supported by our new-to-the-church beautiful Allen organ, equivalent to a 96 –rank pipe instrument. During the months of September thru May we are privileged to have the Chancel Choir lead out singing. In 2017, we were gifted a new three-octave set of Malmark English Handbells to the delight of the congregation and our bell choir. Both choirs offer an open invitation to any interested music person. Special vocal groups and soloists are welcome to come and share their gifts at any time. Doug Speakman, Director of Music and Faith Formation is happy to answer any questions about the music ministry at Calvary Church. He can be reached at church, 747-2918, ext. 206 or email at [email protected].

10:45 AM Service

During the Lighthouse Modern Worship service we have the Crossed Up praise band and anyone is welcome to join or help with special music if they want to. The band performs more contemporary music weekly and features drums, guitar, saxaphone and piano regularly along with vocals.
